Experimental data for a low-head contra-rotating reversible pump-turbine
Hydraulic data recorded at the Leichtweiß-Institute for Hydraulic Engineering and Water Resources contra rotating reversible pump turbine (CR-RPT) test rig. The test rig consist of two open surface water tanks, connected by a pipe in which the CR-RPT is installed. The gross head difference is constant and 7.8 m. The CR-RPT includes two runners with a diameter of 276 mm, each powered by different electric machines.
The data was recorded from pressure transducers (pressures), flowmeter (flow rate), torque transducers (torque) and enconders (rotational speed).
The test rig aims to simulate the working conditions of a low-head pumped hydro energy storage station.
