The most common species are Elatine triandra, Eleocharis acicularis and Peplis portula. Cyperus fuscus shows a center of distribution near the village of Höfer. The highest number of species was found at the Entenfang near Boye, followed by the Meißendorfer Teiche. While most of the species are found in different regions of Lower Saxony Elatine triandra is mainly distributed at the Südheide and the neighboring valley of the river Aller. The Celle district has a special responsibility to protect this species but also to protect the plant associations of the Isoëto-Nanojuncetea.
