Moderne und leistungsfähige Kommunikationssysteme sind die Grundlage für die Digitalisierung in der Landwirtschaft und Landtechnik. Bereits das Motto der Agritechnica 2017 "Green Future - Smart Technology" [1] unterstreicht, dass smarte Lösungen ein anhaltender Entwicklungsschwerpunkt moderner Maschinen und Landtechnik sind. Der Markt für digitale Dienste, Services und Farm Management Informationssysteme wächst spürbar. Dabei steht die Prozessoptimierung für Landwirte und Lohnunternehmer im Fokus. Die Mehrzahl der Landtechnik-Hersteller verfolgt eine klare Strategie bei der Digitalisierung der Maschinen. Maschinendaten sollen barrierefrei nutzbar werden und im Farm Management System des Landwirts und Lohnunternehmers einen Beitrag zur effizienteren Landwirtschaft leisten und weitere Automatisierung ermöglichen. Bereits heute ist zu beobachten, dass viele Innovationen nur durch Digitalisierung und moderne Kommunikationssysteme ermöglicht werden.
