Zur Coenologie von Verbascum chaixii subsp. austriacum (Schott ex Roem. & Schult.) Hayek in Osttirol
The association of Verbascum chaixii subsp. austriacum is investigated in East Tirol (Austria). The species grows there at sunny places up to at least 1200 m above sea level in insolated slopes of railway lines and along roads. Furthermore it grows also on river gravels. Verbascum chaixii subsp. austriacum is associated with varying amounts of species belonging to Artemisietea, Molinio-Arrhenathereta, Trifolio-Geranietea as well as Festuco-Brometea in herbaceous vegetation, where it never dominates the stands.
