Verwilderungen von kultivierten Arten im Freiland des Botanischen Gartens Braunschweig / Dietmar Brandes & Jens Nitzsche
Within the area of the botanical garden Braunschweig plant species running wild are recorded and documented. Between 2004 and 2012 157 species have been documented may be with additional 4 unclear cases. Only 7 of these species have been able to get over the borders of the garden. Compared to the high importance of gardening and horticulture for the running wild of alien species our investigations show again that botanical gardens do not play an important role in spreading of nonresident plants. Our explanation is the small population grown in botanical gardens and the high efforts in maintaining.
