Über den Einfluß von Reduktionsprozessen auf den Leuchtmechanismus des fluoreszierenden Magnesiumorthotitanates und Rubins
The influence of reducing processes (H2, N2, vacuum) on the luminescence of magnesium orthotitanate activated by manganese and [alpha]-Al2O3 activated by chromium (ruby) is investigated at high temperatures. The altering of the ionisation state of manganese activators is best studied by submitting the luminescence material to a vacuum treatment whereby a severe reducing of the basic crystal and the formation of nitrides and hydrides can be avoided.
