Halleffekt und Elektronen-Konfiguration der Edelmetalle
In some previously published papers the present authors have reported new previse measurements of the hitherto unknown Hall coefficients of Nb (Cb), Re, Ru, Rh, Ir and new values for Cu, Ag, Au. These coefficients show a monotonic change from high positive to high negative values with increasing atomic number in each period of the periodic system. These results can be explained satisfactorily in terms of an two band· model according to Mott. The quantitative evaluation of the measured values by our formulae gives some results for the different configuration of electrons in the free and the crystalline state of these metals. The abnormally high positive AH-values of Re and Ru can be explained by the assumption, that even holes in the upper band act as defect-electrons.
