Die Verschweißung von Leitungsdrähten aus Kupfer und Aluminium
Aluminium and copper are successfully upset-welded within a cylindric form between the melting points of aluminium and of the eutecticum, Al-Al2Cu, i. e. 548°C. The liquid eutecticum is formed through the contact of the two specimens only. The aluminium rod ends in the form of a flat hollow cone and the copper rod, as a pointed cone, is fitted into it. A ring-shaped sIot inside the press cylinder surrounds the contact lines. Under a hammer-blow the oxydefilm is torn, aluminium and the newly formed eutecticum fill the snotch. The tensile strength of the joint exceeds that of the aluminium rod.
