Neufunde von Neophyten im Stadtgebiet von Braunschweig / Dietmar Brandes

Within the urban area of Braunschweig the following neophytes have been found recently: Alchemilla mollis. Artemisia scoparia, Artemisia tournefortiana, Catalpa bignonioides, Celtis occidentalis, Centranthus ruber, Conyza sumatrensis, Coriandrum sativum, Cuscuta campestris, Datura innoxia, Dittrichia graveolens, Echinops exaltatus, Geranium purpureum, Glebionis coronaria, Hypericum olympicum, Lavandula angustifolia, Ostrya carpinifolia, Parthenocissus tricuspidata, Prunus laurocerasus, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Sorghum bicolor and Xanthium albinum subsp. albinum. Taking into account this new findings as well as information from literature and herbarium specimens not yet elevated the number of neophytes recorded from the urban area of Braunschweig summarizes to 368 (30% of the current flora of Braunschweig). During the last 8 years 3 neophytes per year have been recorded on average. Therefore the hypothesis ‘this will go on for the next years at least’ is postulated.
