Die Mauervegetation im östlichen Niedersachsen
The wall Vegetation of Lower Saxony is described at which the priority of the investigations is set on the eastern part of Lower Saxony. The following plant communities are documented by plant sociological releves: Asplenietum trichomano-rutae-murariae, Cystopteris fragilis community, Parietarietum judaicae, Cymbalarietum muralis, Corydalis lutea community, Sedum acre community, Saxifrago tridactylitis-Poetum compressae. As ancient walls become more and more seidom in the investigation area, the wall Vegetation also finds less places for growing. A preservation of the wall Vegetation will be possible for Lower Saxony only when eonsideration of the Vegetation will be shown especially by renovating historical buildings and their walls. In comparision with coastal regions in South and Southwest Europe the wall Vegetation of the investigation area is very impoverished what is documented by a south north transect.
